On Friday, June 7, the EDIC center Karlovac in cooperation with Lag Vallis Colapis, will hold a lecture at the Economic and Tourist School Karlovac for second grade students. Through the conversation, young people will get information on what the European Volunteer Service is like to include, where to get the necessary information and the other information. The Lag Vallis Colapis association is aimed at promoting volunteering and strengthening civil society primarily in its geographical area. Their aim is to engage as many volunteers in the rural community as possible, to improve the quality of life of individuals and the community as a whole, and to increase the existing volunteer base and link them together. Through the volunteer center they want to promote, educate and inform about the opportunities that volunteering offers to individuals and communities.
Petra Cule, project leader of the "Kupa Volunteer Center" project will be attending a lecture on Friday, while volunteers of Lag Vallis Colapis from Armenia will talk to students about their experiences from firsthand, advantages that volunteering offers and will provide the students information they want in the form of informal conversation. The partner of this project is Armenian organization Youth Initiatice Center (Gyumri, Armenia). Throughout the project, the LAG hosted 2 Armenian volunteers for long-term volunteering. The volunteers are staying in Ozalj since 2.10.2018. to 10.6.2019. and they volunteer on the activities of the organization and in the local community, carrying out various activities (courses, workshops, etc.).
