The EGSO Award was announced

The European Economic and Social Committee (EGSO) has launched a competition for the Civil Society Award for 2019. This year's theme is „More Women in European Society and Economy“, and will be rewarded innovative initiatives and projects aimed at combating equal opportunities for women and men and equal treatment in all spheres of economic and social life. The EGSO launched the Civil Society Award, which is awarded the eleven year in a row in order to reward and encourage initiatives and achievements by civil society organizations and / or individuals who contribute significantly to the promotion of common values ​​underlying European cohesion and integration. The Prize for Civil Society in 2018 referred to the identities, European values ​​and cultural heritage of Europe.

All civil society organizations officially registered in the European Union operating at local, regional, national or European level, as well as individuals, may apply for the EGSO Award for civil society. Only initiatives or projects that have already been implemented or are underway can be submitted.

A maximum five winners will be selected, which will receive prizes of a total value of EUR 50,000. The deadline for submitting the application is 6 September 2019 at 10:00 and the award ceremony will be held on December 12, 2019 in Brussels.
