Earthquake in Croatia: EU member states send additional aid

Following initial aid sent to Croatia immediately after the devastating earthquake on 29 December 2020, EU member states are sending additional non-monetary aid. Sleeping bags, housing containers, lighting systems and mattresses sent by Germany, France and Austria are on their way to Croatia or will be in the coming days. On 11 January 2021, Slovenia delivered additional containers for accommodation.

Once again, I thank all EU Member States for their swift response to the earthquake. Extensive assistance from 15 EU member states and one participating state sent to the Croatian people in a crisis situation is a concrete example of EU solidarity, said Crisis Management Commissioner Janez Lenarčič.

In 2020 alone, the EU Emergency Response Coordination Center coordinated sending aid to countries in Europe and the world more than 100 times.
